Departmental Service Agreements

Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has launched a new client service strategy to improve the delivery of services to federal government organizations. As part of the Client Service Strategy, Departmental Service Agreements (DSA) are being established between PWGSC and client departments and agencies.

These strategic agreements help:

  • clarify roles and expectations for both PWGSC and client departments,
  • improve PWGSC's relationship with its clients,
  • facilitate strategic discussions,
  • enhance transparency and accountability,
  • provide a formal mechanism to identify joint business priorities over the longer term in areas such as real property, procurement, and linguistic services and ascertain how PWGSC can best contribute to them,
  • bring senior management focus to priorities in both organizations,
  • support good management practices as outlined by the Treasury Board Secretariat in the Management Accountability Framework and in its guidelines to service agreements, and
  • support the government's efforts to have departments and agencies work together as one team to deliver services to Canadians more efficiently.
