Harper Government Supports Canadian Innovation

Today the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, hosted a Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) Showcase at the Western Innovation Forum. The event highlighted how the BCIP supports jobs and growth by helping companies get their innovative products from the lab to the marketplace. Minister Finley was joined by the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, and Nicole Verkindt, President of OMX, who, along with the ministers, acted as a panelist for the showcase.

Minister Finley checks out NGRAIN's Augmented Reality Field Performance Support System, which is a tablet-based program that acts as an interactive instruction manual.
Mike Morrow, Founder and CEO, and Shawn Griffin, VP Product, of CommandWear Systems Inc. provide details on their product to Minister Finley in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The CommandWear's innovation, which received support through the BCIP, is a software solution for first responders that allows them to keep in touch with their teams in real time.
