Chris Warkentin was first elected to the House of Commons in 2006. He was re-elected in 2008 and 2011. He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Works and Government Services in February 2015.
Prior to his election, Mr. Warkentin owned and operated a residential construction company. He has served as the Chair of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development and the co-chair of the all-party Entrepreneur Caucus. He was also appointed to the Red Tape Reduction Commission in 2011.
Mr. Warkentin studied business and marketing at Grande Prairie Regional College.
He and his wife, Michelle, along with their three children Abigail, Cobi, and Kyler, live in the County of Grande Prairie.
