Technical Investigation Services

The RCMP's Technical Investigation Services organization provides leadership in the technology, techniques and systems used for lawful access by investigators. Specifically we develop mechanical and electronic techniques for surveillance and entry and systems used by RCMP investigators for surveillance and entry.

We also provide leadership in the technology and techniques of explosives disposal and manage the Canadian Bomb Data Centre. This centre is a resource for Canadian and international police services as well as RCMP explosives-disposal technicians and post-blast investigators. In addition our audio and video analysts conduct forensic examinations on audio and video recordings and give expert testimony on the recordings for court purposes.
