Bev Walton-Porter is a professional writer/editor who has had more than 150 articles featured in numerous publications, both in print and in electronic format. Her article Eight Great Ways to Jump-start Your Writing was selected as Best of the 'Net by The Mining Company in 1997. The article is also featured at the Purefiction and CyberOasis Web sites. In her previous incarnation, Bev was Web site review editor and editorial assistant for Eye on the Web, no longer in operation on the Internet.

Bev has also penned over 30 career development profiles for The Bridges Initiatives Inc, an educational company based in British Columbia, Canada.

Her work has been featured in various publications, including Writer's Digest, ByLine Magazine,
The Colorado Springs Sun, Oklahoma Living and The Write Markets Report, among others. She has also assisted with the promotion and consultation of several books, including Diplomatic Immunity by Howard Olsen, which was recently mentioned in the August 2nd issue of TIME Magazine and in the December 1999 issue of Writer's Digest.

Recently, Bev was commissioned to write an article about how writers can promote themselves online for an upcoming book, Writer's Guide to Online Markets by Debbie Ridpath Ohi, to be published this year by Writer's Digest Books.

Bev is a member of Oklahoma Writers' Federation, Inc, Scribes of the Goddess, Scribe & Quill Society, Sisters of the Scribe and is past president and current publicity manager for Enid Writer's Club, the oldest writing group in the state of Oklahoma. When not writing or editing, Bev facilitates courses through Scribe & Quill Writing Workshops, Coffeehouse for Writers and The Academy of Web Specialists.

Although not a native of Oklahoma, Bev has staked her claim there with her husband of 14 years and their two children. She operates her freelance business from home and self-publishes Scribe & Quill an online ezine for writers of all genres.
