Read our author interview Read our review of Dead Low Tide Jamie Katz is an Assistant Attorney General and chief of the Public Charities Division for the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General. Dead Low Tide (Harper Collins, December 1998), his debut mystery novel featuring Dan Kardon, a lawyer turned sleuth, received a 1999 Shamus Award nomination for Best First Mystery. The second Dan Kardon mystery A Summer for Dying (Avon) will be released in August 2000. Mr. Katz writes non-fiction articles as well and serves on the Borard of Directors of the New England chapters of Mystery Writers of America. He has officially retired from some of the activities of his misspent youth, including playing the bluegrass banjo badly, appearing on Family Feud, and bungy-jumping over a river in New Zealand. Mr. Katz lives with his wife, Cynthia Piltch, PhD and their daughter Lee, in Watertown, Massachusetts. More information about his writing can be found on his web site.
