This cliffhanger begins with a daredevil SAS raid on a house on the outskirts of Khartoum to rescue a kidnapped American scientist. An innocent couple, twin brother and sister, are caught up in the crossfire leaving Sudan. The twins, Samira and Yasin are orphaned. Years later, the seeds of hatred are about to reap a terrible harvest.

The author has woven a story of high-octane suspense out of the terrifying reality behind today's headlines. Humphrey Hawksley has carefully researched his subject, the world of espionage and betrayal. The stakes are high as an extremely dangerous biological weapon is about to be released on a large city; the potential disaster would be worse than the fate of Hiroshima.

The reader is also given an intriguing insight into money laundering, and the subtle manner in which under cover operations are carried out when moving enormous sums of money from one country to another to make the ultimate recipient's initial deposit untraceable.

This is an exciting thriller in exotic settings with a tense climax. This book exposes atrocious reality, using fiction to launder the author's eminent knowledge of covert operations.
