Lucinda Edmonds is a blockbuster novelist and she has not disappointed her readers with her latest title.

A secret lies buried for seventy years - a secret that could expose a scandal within the very highest strata of British society. Joanna Haslam, an intelligent young investigative journalist, covers the funeral of a great actor, the greatest of his generation. It seems on the surface to be a straightforward, even mundane story. Yet a chance encounter at the funeral service leads Joanna into a dramatic chain of discoveries. The circumstances force her to abandon the man she loves to uncover a ruthlessly guarded secret that threatens to bring down the very highest in the land. Joanna is up against an intelligence service and is unaware of the fact that her childhood friend and close confidant, Simon Warburton, is actually in the employ of the secret service.

The author's latest, most searing novel weaves sharply through forbidden domains of British society, culminating into a compelling revelation. An excellent read.
