The various monsters are grouped under their respective types. At the beginning of each chapter is a history of the creature's category in mythology, literature and film. Topics such as demonic possession, the Antichrist, witchcraft, werewolves, vampires and mummies are covered in some depth and show where the invented demonic world of the Sunnydale Hellmouth fits into the darker side of popular culture. If you are a fan of the series, this book is definitely essential. It should take pride of place amongt all your other demonological incunabulae and crumbling manuscripts. |
