Louise Castonguay to Promote New Books Service

While working for 13 years at the Canada Council for the Arts, Louise Castonguay contributed to several programs, including the Literary Readings, the Publishers' Promotion Tours, the National Book Festival, the Governor General's Literary Awards (with Josiane Polidori), the creation and management of the Literary Program of First Nations and the management of the International Book Prizes (Japan, Belgium and Switzerland), as well as the International Translation Program. For several consecutive years, she was at the Canada Council for the Arts stand at the Salon du livre de Montréal. She also represented the Canada Council for the Arts at the Canada stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

At the beginning of April 2002, Louise joined Luc Simard (CIP) and Maryse Plouffe (ISBN) in the Library's Acquisitions and Bibliographic Services branch. She is now working on promoting the Library’s New Books Service (www.nlc-bnc.ca/newbooks) to Canadian publishers and publishers’ associations.
