50th Anniversary CoordinatorThe National Library is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Morton, the National Library’s 50th anniversary celebrations coordinator. Mrs. Morton assumed her new position on March 21, 2002, as part of a two-year secondment under the Interchange Canada program. Among her many accomplishments, Elizabeth completed a master’s degree in English at the University of Ottawa. Her experience includes working as the editor of Feliciter and monographs at the Canadian Library Association (CLA), an organization she has been a part of since 1987. During her 16 years in communications, she has been responsible for the CLA’s bimonthly membership magazine and the CLA publishing program. "I am very pleased to be working on the celebrations commemorating the National Library’s 50th anniversary. This will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the contributions not only of the National Library as an information and cultural resource for Canadians - both now and in the future - but also of libraries across Canada," said Ms. Morton. "I look forward to working with the great team of colleagues here at the National Library, as well as with members of the Canadian library and information community on a spectacular ‘golden’ year for the National Library of Canada."
