National Congenital Anomalies Surveillance Workshop, 2000

Brought together international, national, provincial/territorial representatives from fields of public health, genetics, pediatrics, obstetrics, radiology

Objectives of the national workshop:

  • to gain an understanding of provincial/territorial congenital anomaly
    surveillance activities, initiatives and issues
  • to develop strategies to address particular issues in CAS

Federal goals identified:

  • Support a formal network and enhance surveillance at all levels
  • Enhance the current national surveillance system (CCAS)
  • Increase access and availability of technical resources and support
