CCASN Working Groups

Communications/Annual Meeting Working Group

The objectives of the Communications/Annual Meeting group is to provide advice and direction on strategies for promoting awareness of the CCASN and for building linkages between congenital anomalies surveillance systems. This group also provides guidance on the focus, format and evaluation of the CCASN Scientific Meeting.

Surveillance, Guidelines and Standards (SGS) Working Group

The objective of the Surveillance, Guidelines and Standards group is to improve the reliability and quality of congenital anomalies surveillance data at the national and provincial surveillance registry levels. The SGS tasks include the development of a core dataset of congenital anomalies and standardizing guidelines for case classification, coding and reporting.

Demographics and Risk Indicators Working Group

The objective of the Demographics and Risk Indicators group is to develop standards and recommendations for the most appropriate and collectable data elements and indicators, and to develop standard guidelines to collect and maintain the data elements and indicators.
