Declarations of Significant and Commercial Discoveries

Applications for Significant and Commercial Discovery Declarations in regards to the Canada Petroleum Resources Act have been processed by the Board since 1991. Lands identified are in non-Accord areas and include only Crown administered sections. First Nations assigned lands,as recognized by land agreements, are excluded.

The Table of NEB Declarations [517 EXCEL KB] shows the field name and/or well name, company, date declared and applicable NEB area. These declarations can also be found throughout the Board's Regulatory Agenda listings since 1997. Land adminstration maps can be found at the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada website that show the resulting Crown assigned lands for all declarations made prior to and including the Board's declarations.

Applicants are encouraged to meet with the Chief Conservation Officer (CCO@neb-one.gc.ca) and staff prior to filing an application.
