Young Liberal Candidates: M.I.A.
05 January 2006

As I wrote in the third week of the campaign, there were only 15 young Liberal candidates running in only three provinces. And as we come down the homestretch into the final few weeks of our electoral marathon…nothing has changed!

The percentage of young candidates running for Paul remains at 4.87% (assuming they’re fielding 308 candidates)! How can we, as young Canadians, invest our collective future with a party that doesn’t put a premium on recruiting the top young talent in the country?

Short answer: we can’t. We need a leader and a party focused on the future, so with that in mind let’s run down some of the notable young Canadians playing for Team Harper

Andrew Scheer (SK)
Pierre Poilivere (ON)
Steven Fletcher (MB)
Rona Ambrose (AB)
Helena Guergis (ON)
Peter Mackay (NS)
John Baird (ON)
Patrick Robert (QC)
James Moore (BC)

Wow…that’s nine great candidates, from seven amazing provinces, without even having to think about it! The lesson? Don’t believe the Liberal hype – as you can see, only the Conservatives want to represent youth by treating them as equals!
