Just Act Youth Conference

Following last year’s successful Take The Stand: Youth Forum on International Justice Issues, and with support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Just Act! Youth Leadership Conference was held in Ottawa, March 6-9, 2003.

Organized by War Child Canada with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), the Just Act! Youth Conference encourages young peple from across Canada to learn about and share their thoughts on international justice and the International Criminal Court.

Just Act Youth Conference - participants in a workshop

Fifty youth from across Canada, ranging in age from 15 to 18, met in Ottawa to gain a deeper understanding of important world issues, develop leadership skills, and learn how creative arts like drama, music and video can enhance a campaign for global change. The Just Act! Youth Leadership Conference featured presentations by experts in international justice, skill-building workshops by artists, activists and humanitarians as well as leadership training to help youths form a strong team to support their efforts. Following the conference, all participants worked together as Just Act! Youth For International Justice ambassadors, to promote awareness about international issues.
