Pygmy Whitefish

Management

Illustration of the Pygmy WhitefishNo specific management for Pygmy Whitefish has been undertaken in Alberta. The low numbers and restricted distribution of Pygmy Whitefish in the province prompted the Fisheries and Wildlife Management Division of Alberta Environment to commission of study of their status and to make recommendation with regard to their protection. This study recommended that Pygmy Whitefish be considered vulnerable in Alberta.
