Candle Holders
Candle Holders

This set of candle holders (40 centimeters in height) is made of silver. Although appearing to be quite heavy and solid, they are in fact hollow, and surprisingly light. Each has a circular base and a cylindrical body. The holders are decorated with etchings of foliage, representing growth, and commonly associated with the flowering of the Torah. Candle holders are primarily used on the eve of Shabbat and other holidays. It is customary for the mother of a family to light the Shabbat candles while the others recite the appropriate prayer. Shabbat candlesticks always come in pairs.
