Spice Boxes are used during Havdalah services. Havdalah is the ceremony which marks the end of Shabbat (day of rest). Spice Boxes hold sweet smelling spices which console one for Shabbat's passing. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes including small box-like objects, tower figures representative of specific towers, or replicas of fish.
