The Improving of Hazel Hill

While the lines were thus improving and expanding, the Station itself was not standing still. From the original half dozen houses and small wooden office, it has grown to what it is today:

The married quarters are commodious and well equipped having electric light, bathrooms, running water and all modern conveniences and the bachelor's quarters are equally well equipped, well furnished and heated and nothing left undone to assure the comfort of the occupants. A competent staff of servants under the direction of a housekeeper is provided by the Company, who attend to all needs and assure the bachelors good meals and a comfortable home.

In addition to the staff quarters, there is a Power House for supplying power and light to the station, a good water supply from the lake pumped into 100 gallon tanks in each house twice daily, "well" water was available in each house for drinking. A good sewage system, carpenter's shop, barns and other outbuildings, street lights and sidewalks, all maintained by the Company.

The staff quarters are built on a terrace running East and West. On the Western end and slightly to the front is the Office. The bachelor's quarters occupy a similar position on the Eastern end. All front the South having in the foreground the tennis courts, the Hazel Hill Lake, and the Ocean beyond. Boats and bathing house are provided for the use of the staff by the Hazel Hill Athletic Assoc. Football and Baseball grounds are at the back, together with the Power station barns, etc.
