"Cape had an Orchestra. My Grandfather was the Band Master. Boy, they were good, they sounded just like Guy Lombardo, no kidding. Miss Moffat, she taught them to play the instuments. There were lots of instruments in the school,so they'd practice. Even old judge played the violin, today he wouldn't know a note. They had girls ball teams too, they wore the bloomers with a sailors knitty collar, bloomers with elastic below the knee. They looked smart. That would be about the 1920's or 30's. There was a wonderful soccer team here too. They used to travel all over on the outside. They had a good hockey team here too, but there's nothing here now, it's all gone. Those LaValley's were good hockey players."
