1910
  • First western section of line of Canadian Northern Railway to extend from New Westminster to Chilliwack.
  • A militia company for Chilliwack will be organized.
  • City Hall building site chosen.
  • First B.C. Electric Railway train enters Chilliwack.

1911

  • Chilliwack drivers of horses and rigs make official complaint against the drivers of automobiles.

1912

  • Chilliwack Hospital officially opened.
  • 600,000 Sockeye salmon fry let loose in Cultus Lake as a start for fish hatchery.

1913

  • Public proud of Chilliwack's fine new post office.
  • Experiments have good results. Cow testing associations will be formed in all districts of British Columbia.
  • Chilliwack's Dairyman's Association expresses full faith in tuberculin test.

1914

  • In common with all parts of the British Empire, Chilliwack eagerly awaits war bulletins.
  • Municipal council has a new hall away from the noise of the city.
  • Warren Addision Ash is Chilliwack's first casualty of war.

1915

  • Chilliwack sewerage system is completed. City has taken over one of the most important works in history of city.

1916

  • Debates rage over B.C. Prohibition Act.
  • Clemency is offered to deserters.

1917

  • Cooking by electricity. An electric range is demonstrated at B.C.E.R. depot.
  • Chilliwack Fair is cancelled.
  • The Fraser Valley Milk Producers' Association is organized.

1918

  • Orion Bowman of Promontory Sawmills ships two cars of airplane spruce sold by Tzeachten Reserve.
  • All schools, churches, theatres, poolrooms and public auctions closed due to Spanish Influenza.
  • End of war is royally celebrated.

1919

  • Practical work at high school. Instruction not all theoretical. Agriculture and domestic science, physical training given.
  • City purchases a horse-drawn fire-truck offered by the City of North Vancouver.
  • Council accepts offer of provincial government. Will hard surface highway in city.
  • Citizens thrilled by pioneer airmen. First cross B.C. flight lands at fair grounds.
  • Indians willing to try smallpox vaccine.
