There are many different styles of dream
catchers as there are artists making them.
Historical origins are not well known.
Most First Nations throughout North America have developed their own style.

Dream catchers can be made with all natural materials.
The ring would be made with a flexible branch such as willow.
The internal weaving would be made with sinew.
All of the feathers would be natural and hang from the dream catcher.
Hide and sinew would be used to tie it all together.

A brass ring of a designated size would be purchased and decorated with hide strapping.
Internal weaving would be done with synthetic sinew or thread.
Synthetic feathers and ribbons can be used to tie the pieces together.
Most dream catchers have a mixture of the all natural and non-natural methods.

Size of the dream catcher (can range from 1"-24").
The use of natural  and/or non-natural elements affect price (non-natural elements are less expensive).
The type of weaving will affect price (some have tires, some have a straight weave, some are woven in a diamond pattern). The more detail in the web, the more expensive.
The use of beads in the web adds value to the piece.
