Crimean War Picture

SpacerThis picture is of the Crimean War of 1854-1856. The war took place near the Baltic Sea. Russia invaded the Turkish Empire and Britain and France came to the aid of Turkey. The picture is called "Defense of Kars" and is the first reprint. Sir Fenwick Williams (man with hat) was knighted for the war. He was born in Annapolis Royal, N.S. and later became Lt. Governor of Nova Scotia.
