Entrance Way
Greenwood Cottage has 37 different colors of paint on the walls and ceilings. Originally, the floors were covered with wall to wall rugs. The doors and staircase are wide so a lady's hooped skirt could easily go through. Coming down the staircase, Sarah would be able to make a grand entrance with an appearance of floating as she came to greet callers. John left Greenwood to Sarah in his will registered in 1892. She sold the home to the Murdocks in 1901. The house was purchased by the Gordon (Leslie) family in 1946 and lived in until 1982 when Mrs. Leslie passed away.
