Aboriginal
people of the area were semi-nomadic. During summer months their
camps would be set up on the vast prairies. The camps would be positioned
on hilltops where they could see for long distances or in valleys
for protection against the elements. Aboriginal
migration was determined by buffalo herd migration. Weather was
also a contributing factor. During the winter months they traveled
to more wooded areas where they had more protection from the wind
and cold. Tent rings visible today are still present because the
rings were reused every time they returned to an area.
