Ottawa, Nov. 17: A branch from Humboldt to Calgary : From a point in township 29, range 7, west of the third meridian, south easterly to a point on the Qu'Appelle, Long Lake and Saskatchewan railway near Craik. An extension of the line authorized in 1901 in a westerly direction to a point in township 5, range 15 west of the second meridian, thence in a northwesterly direction to 16, 27, west of the second. A branch from Humboldt northwesterly to a point in township 43. A branch from South Battleford in a westerly direction to a point in 24, 27. A branch from North Battleford north westerly to township 59, west of the fourth meridian. A branch from Strathcona to Calgary. |
A branch from Regina south westerly to the international boundary. A branch from Saskatoon south westerly to the South Saskatchewan river. An extension of the main line from Edmonton by the most feasible route across the Rocky Mountains and through northern British Columbia to a point on the Pacific coast. An extension from a point on the line already authorized near the forks of the Athabasca and the McLeod rivers, south westerly to the head waters of the McLeod. From Battleford westerly a distance of 100 miles. This means a further extension of the line already authorized from Prince Albert to Battleford. As will be seen from the above, the company have in view the building of two branch lines from Humboldt, the most important one being the line from here to Calgary. It is understood that this line will eventually be built through to Hudson's Bay. The other line will run in a north westerly direction and connect with the Swan River branch.
