Quinn Faulkner

BIRTH:  Unknown
DEATH:  Unknown

  • Was Louis Morand's partner in many ventures.
  • Took up land lot 183, in 1885.

Quinn was not in the White Valley area too long. He was a partner to Louis Morand many times and assisted in the surveying of the original town site. On August 18th, 1891, Faulkner and a man named Kerr, received a permit to build a 2 story building, 40x40 feet. The contractors were Morand and Barnes from Vernon. It was Quinn who gave the hotel the name "Ramshorn".

Earlier that year Quinn sold 40 acres to Morand, and they had used it to lay out a town site. On August 25th, 1892, the town was called Lumby for the first time. The hotel was opened with a dance on January 19th, 1893. The next year the hotel burned down. Quinn then preempted land in Vernon where he started building his new home. He moved to the ranch in 1895 and not much was heard of him after that. Tom Norris purchased the land for one thousand dollars after Quinn defaulted on his payments. Quinn was then said to have moved back to Arizona.
