Basket Weaver
John Henry’s basement, where he spends a lot of his
time during the winter months making baskets.
|
John Henry has been making and selling baskets all his life. John
Henry remembers years ago before the bridge was built, he would carry 10
baskets at one time across the frozen river and they would each sell for
$0.65 each. Today, the price of baskets range in price from small baskets
at $25.00 to large baskets at $45.00.

Christine makes beaded crafts during the winter months then sells
them at Pow Wows the following summer. Her future daughter-in-law,
Tammy, as well as her granddaughter, Paige, assist in the beadwork.
Christine made mukluks for her grandson, Peter, when he appeared in an
episode of “Emily of New Moon”.
