The D.A. Thomas

The D.A. Thomas

Autumn 1929 - The last and greatest steamer to run on the Peace River, the D.A. Thomas, built in 1916, was considered a first class vessel. Staterooms had electricity as well as hot and cold running water and the lower berths were 36 inches wide rather that the usual 30. The dining room had the finest linen tablecloths and fine silver and parlours, for ladies and gentlemen, were available for added comfort. The trip from Peace River to Hudson's Hope on this great ship would set you back $35 return. There were, of course, additional charges for freight, for exclusive use of staterooms, and meals. The D.A. Thomas is shown here passing Fort St. John.
