Nicholas Ford Davin

Nicholas Davin is seen by some as the early city's strongest defender, occasionally referred
to as "moody" Mr. Davin remains equally recognized for his generous nature and clever
mind.
In 1883 Mr. Davin established the "Regina Leader", the first circulated periodical in the territories.
Through his newspaper Davin helped attract new settlers to the Regina area by giving glowing
descriptions of the new city within his publication. To date the "Regina LeaderPost" continues
to serve the Southern Saskatchewan area and remains one of the most widely read daily
newspapers in the Province.
