3. PURPOSE/TEACHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The purpose of this lesson is to give students' an
opportunity of how the Cree people traditionally communicated without speaking.
Students' will become familiar with how the Cree people communicated with the Europeans
when they first arrived. 4. ACTIVITIES/IDEAS: Research the website and have the students' practice a short sentence using the Cree handsignals. After one or two days of practice, have the students' present their sentence to the
class. The students' can try to guess what the sentence is and what it represents. 5. EVALUATION:
