Introduction

Industry Canada and the Saskatchewan Indian Federated College - Department of Indian Education have created five curriculum teaching units.  The project focus is on First Nations and Metis peoples of Canada.  Significant use of SchoolNet's Digital Collections, the First People site has been integrated into the teaching units as well as other World Wide Web sites.

The curriculum developers, writers and researchers were June Lewis and Tanya Welte, recent Department of Indian Education graduates.  Project coordinator and manager was Janice R. Lerat along with Dr. Jack Tarasoff as on-site advisor.  SIFC Network Administrator, Darrell Rudolph created and designed the unique Web-site.  Biographies of these individuals can be found at the end of this site.
