- identify changes that occurred during the Northwest Rebellion/Resistance.

3. PURPOSE/TEACHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION

    The purpose of this lesson is to discuss with the students' the people who were involved and their role was in the Northwest Rebellion/Resistance.  It is important for students' to develop an understanding of what First Nations and Metis people went through during that time in history.

4.ACTIVITIES/IDEAS:

The students' can research on the internet and read the biography of Chief Poundmaker.  Go over the question sheet with the students before they complete it on their own.  Students' could work in pairs of two to complete the activity.
