3. PURPOSE/TEACHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

    The purpose of this lesson is develop student awareness and recognition of the people involved and what role they served in the Northwest  Rebellion/Resistance.  The students' will gain an understanding of what the First Nation people and the Metis people had to go through during this era.

4. ACTIVITIES/IDEAS:

    Students' research on the internet and read through the biography of Louis Riel.  Discuss the worksheet with them to see if they have any questions or concerns.  Have the students' answer the questions and encourage them to work in pairs.
