3. PURPOSE/TEACHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

    The purpose of this lesson is to make students' aware of the people involved and their role in the Northwest Rebellion/Resistance.  The students' will gain an understanding of what the First Nation and Metis people experienced during this era.

4. ACTIVITIES/IDEAS:

    Students' research on the internet and read through the biography of Lieutenant Otter.   Discuss the worksheet with the students' and see if there are any questions.  Allow the
students' to answer the questions and encourage pair work to complete the assignment.
