Carole
Segal was born and educated in Montreal, Quebec. She is an impressionist
painter of oils and pastels with a growing reputation. Her still
life, character portrait and figure paintings have been seen and
acclaimed recently in several Canadian exhibitions.
Segal's paintings reflect a special kind of freshness and spontaneity.
"Impressionism for me is a style that fits a way of seeing".
Keeping paintings spontaneous and free from small detail enables
the viewers to participate in the work by using their own imagination.
During the past ten years, Segal has gained wide experience and
acceptance as an artist-instructor.
Major works of her oil and pastel paintings are to be found in many
private collections, banks and
corporations, both here in Canada and United States, Europe and
Israel.
Segal's studies have taken her to the Southwestern United States
and has completed studies with David Leffel, Joyce Pike and Harley
Brown (originally from Calgary). Segal is a founding signature member
of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada.
