Jean was born and grew up in Montreal. Now, most of the time, she lives in Mont-Tremblant.

She worked in the business world for many years and has a business degree from McGill University. At the same time, she pursued her interest in art by attending art courses and seminars. Most notably, with the late Leslie Schalk, first in his class at the Thomas More Institute and then for several years in his Montreal studio. Later, she studied with Québécoise artist, Hélène Léonard at the Verdun Cultural Centre. To further her mixed-media skills she attends workshops at the Carol Segal Studio of Fine Art in Montreal.

Jean has participated in both group and solo exhibitions and is a member of several art associations. Her works can be found in private collecions in Mont-Tremblant, Montrèal, Ottawa, Toronto and California.
