Service Codes and Definitions

AOE
Airport of Entry - Authorized airport of entry for clearance of all classes of scheduled and unscheduled aircraft (travellers and cargo).

AOE/15: Airport of entry solely for the clearance of persons arriving by general aviation traffic where the flights are unscheduled and the traveller capacity, including crew, does not exceed 15 people.

AOE/#: Airport of entry for the clearance of scheduled and unscheduled air traffic but with traveller restrictions as indicated by an appropriate numerical designator (e.g. AOE/125).

AOE/15/SEAPL
Seaplane Airport - Airport of entry solely for the clearance of persons arriving by seaplane where the flights are unscheduled and the traveller capacity, including crew, does not exceed 15 people.

AOE/CAN
Airport of Entry/CANPASS - Airport of entry designated for CANPASS private and corporate permit holders only.

AOE/CAN/SEAPL
Seaplane CANPASS - Waterdrome airport of entry designated for CANPASS private and corporate permit holders.

AOE/CARGO
Airport of Entry/Commercial - Airport of entry solely for the reporting and processing of commercial cargo and crew arriving by air transport.

AOE/M
Airport of Entry/Military - Airport of entry for clearance of military aircraft only, unless otherwise designated (e.g. AOE/15).

C/VESS
Commercial Vessel - Marine port of entry where commercial vessels other than ferry boats or cruise ships report to CBSA.

CAN/AIR
CANPASS-Air - Self-service kiosk uses iris recognition to verify membership of CANPASS-Air members.

CAN/PB
CANPASS- Private Boat - Authorized marine port of entry solely for CANPASS Private Boat Program permit holders only.

CMC
CBSA Mail Centre - Office for the customs processing and examination of international mail.

CRC
Casual Refund Centre - Office for the processing of non-commercial refund claims for duties and taxes on postal/courier and travellers importations.

CSO
Cruise Ship Operations - Authorized disembarkation site for travellers and crew of all types of cruise ships.

DCO
Designated Commercial Office - Port of entry which provides 24 hour service - 7 days a week, for the reporting and clearing of commercial goods.

DRS/M
Direct Reporting Site for Marine Private Vessel - CBSA staffed marine port of entry where private pleasure craft MUST report directly.

EDI
Electronic Data Interchange - Office that provides for the electronic transmission and interchange of cargo, release, and accounting data.

EXPORT
Designated Export Office - Designated office for the reporting and processing of export declarations and permits.

FAST
Free and Secure Trade - Port of entry at which Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program members can receive expedited clearance for commercial cargo highway.

FAST/DEC
Free and Secure Trade: Driver Enrollment Centers - Offices having a driver enrollment centre for the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) program located on the premises.

FERRY
Ferry Terminal - Authorized point of entry for the disembarkation of travellers and/or vehicles arriving by ferry.

HUB
HUB- Central Office - Office responsible for providing service to Inland Alternate Service (IAS) sites and other service locations reporting to the HUB.

HWY/B
Highway - Land Border Office - Port of entry from the USA for the processing of travellers, crew and/or for the reporting and clearing of commercial goods.

IAS
Inland Alternate Service - Location not staffed by CBSA for which a designated HUB office provides commercial and traveller services.

IMM
Immigration - Office at which clients can receive a full range of immigration services.

INLAND
Inland Office - Customs office classified as non direct point of entry providing a full range of customs services to the general public and to other service sites, e.g. In-bond highway, marine, rail, etc.

LVS
Low Value Shipments Program - Office where courier Low Value Shipments (LVS) Program clearances are performed.

NEXUS/AIR
NEXUS AIR - Authorized point of entry for members of the joint Canada/U.S. NEXUS Air Program.

NEXUS/HWY
NEXUS Highway - Authorized point of entry for members of the joint Canada/U.S. NEXUS Highway Program.

NEXUS/MARINE
NEXUS Marine - Authorized point of entry for members of the joint Canada/U.S. NEXUS Marine Program.

NTO
Non-Terminal Office - The CBSA does not accept electronic release or accounting data for commercial transactions at these offices.

RAIL
Railway Depot - Authorized point of entry for the reporting of travellers and/or freight arriving by rail.

SHOP
Duty-Free Shop - Location at which a duty free shop is located within close proximity.

SWH
Sufferance Warehouse / Highway - Privately owned and operated facility licensed by the CBSA for control, short term storage, transfer, delivery and examination of in-bond goods until the goods are released by the CBSA or exported from Canada.

TRS/M
Telephone Reporting Site - Marine - Marine port of entry at which private pleasure craft operators may report by telephone.
