Map of the world, 1508

The oldest published document related to Canada in the collection of the National Archives of Canada. What was known about Canada appears just left of centre, near the top, under the word GRVENLANTENS (Greenland). The map shows Newfoundland (Terra Nova) and the adjacent islands.

Published in Geographia by Ptolemy in Rome in 1508.
