Map of Ontario by Chewett, 1825

This map is famous primarily because it shows the extent of the Canada Company lands. Those lands, former provincial government reserves, were a thorny political problem for many years. To the right of the title is a model of the distribution of the lands in a township. For 30 years, this was the most comprehensive map of the province.
