A DREAM COMES TRUE SIX VANCOUVER ISLAND WRITERS TO READ & PERFORM AT CENTREPOINT, SWITZERLAND

"I have a dream," said Cindy Shantz a few years ago from her home on Vancouver Island - "a dream to organize a performance tour in Switzerland for my writing group. I want them to experience what I loved about Switzerland when I lived there, and I want our audience to vicariously experience what Easy Writers love about Vancouver Island." (Cindy lived in Aarau for nine years, moving back to Vancouver Island in 1999 with her Swiss husband who had just retired.)

Well, Cindy's dream is going to come true this fall. It all kicks off in Basel (at Centrepoint) on September 20, when Easy Writers perform selections from their book, One Sweet Ride, with repeat performances in Aarau (at the Alte Kantonsschule on September 21) and in Zurich (at St. Andrew's Community Centre on September 22.)

One Sweet Ride is no dull (yawn) book-reading. All six Easy Writers are practised readers and performers who enjoy connecting with the audience. You will be entertained by a highly varied selection of material (including a rap) and, in addition, learn why Vancouver Island is considered "paradise". (The writers will show a short selection of slides.)

So mark the date and locale that suits you best on your calendar (see poster) and join Easy Writers for their performance of One Sweet Ride. Afterwards, drop by the book table for a chat with the authors. They'll be revved up and you will be too! (A limited number of copies of their book, One Sweet Ride, will be for sale for Fr 20.-)

Easy Writers is composed of six women and three men from various parts of Vancouver Island whose talents are as varied as the writers’ locales.
