Dr Sylvain Gerber is arguably the most diverse biologist in the Biodiversity Lab at Bath University. An evolutionary paleobiologist, Gerber is interested in morphological evolution and its processes. He received his Ph.D. in 2007 from Université de Bourgogne (that's in France, for those who don't recognize the language), after which he was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Geophysical Sciences at University of Chicago (that's near Wrigley Field, for those who don't know da lingo). Having soaked in its intellectual environment, Gerber has left his ring-like mark on Bath through his work on ammonite morphometrics and morphospaces. He has served admirably as handling editor for Palaeontologia Electronica since 2012.
