Export documentation

When reporting your exports, you must submit an export declaration by using one of the following methods:

  • G7 Electronic Data Interchange Export Reporting
This process allows exporters and agents to file export declarations via electronic data interchange (EDI).

  • Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED)
An electronic method of reporting exports, which allows you or your agent to quickly prepare your export declarations and transmit the information directly to the Government of Canada before exportation.

  • Summary reporting
A method reserved for exporters of low-risk goods who export on a regular basis and have met specific customs requirements. It enables you or your agent to summarize required export data, which can be submitted on a monthly basis in writing, after the goods have left Canada.

To apply for this program, you must contact Program Services at your regional CBSA office. Goods that are controlled, prohibited, or regulated do not qualify for this program.

  • B13A Export Declaration (PDF, 330 KB) [help with PDF files]
A paper-based method of reporting your exports, which must be submitted prior to exporting your shipment to the customs office nearest the place of exportation.

For step-by-step instructions to completing your B13A Export Declaration, consult Exporting Goods From Canada: A Handy Guide for Exporters (BSF5081).
