Other Government Departments - Requirements

The CBSA assists other government departments (OGDs) in the administration of their legislation as it relates to the exportation of various commodities. The requirements of OGDs will help you determine if the goods you are exporting are controlled, prohibited, or regulated, and require a permit.

The OGD requirements most relevant to exports are found in the following memoranda:

• D19-1-1 Food, Agricultural Commodities, Aquatic Commodities, and Agricultural Input
• D19-3-2 Exportation of Wheat and Barley Products
• D19-4-1 Export of Controlled Cultural Property (Cultural and Property Export and Import Act)
• D19-7-2 Requirements Concerning the Importation and Exportation of Ozone-Depleting Substances and Products
• D19-7-3 Importation and Exportation of Hazardous Waste
• D19-9-2 Regulations of Narcotics and Controlled and Restricted Drugs (Narcotic Control Act, Food and Drugs Act)
• D19-10-3 Export and Import Permits Act (Exportations)
• D19-13-1 Species Designated as Harmful To Canadian Ecosystem - Exportation of Wild Animals and Plants Subject to Provincial or Territorial Controls
