Flag Newfoundland & Labrador

Newfoundland & Labrador is another province with numerous mineral localities. A copper ore deposit was recently found in Labrador. Near Gander, quartz crystals have been found. Fine quality specimens of dolomite and sphalerite occur at the Newfoundland Zinc Mine by Daniels Harbour. Minerals can also be found around Labrador City. Fossils are found in the province as well (see Canadian Rockhound, Summer 1997 issue).
