About our Club:

Our monthly general meetings feature a guest speaker and silent auction. Library access is also available. Each year we hold an Annual Banquet in November. Our December meeting has a Craft Sale. A Voice Auction is held at our February meeting.

Our club is a member of the Central Canadian Federation of Mineralogical Societies.

Meetings:

    Below is the new meeting location and time, as of June 2000

  • Date: First Wednesday of each month (except July, August and November)
  • Time: 8:00 pm
  • Location: Knox United Church Hall (at the intersection of Midland Ave. and Sheppard Ave.), Toronto, Ontario.


Special Interest Groups:

Members interested in a particular field of geology or rockhounding may join any one of our specialty groups, which meet on a monthly basis.
  • Micromounters - monthly group workshop, study of microscopic minerals.
  • Mineral Study Group - monthly meeting, study of mineralogy.
  • Carvers - monthly group carving session.
  • Paleontology - monthly meeting for fossil study and field trips.
  • Wireworkers - monthly workshops on silver and gold-fill wirewrapped jewelry.


Field Trips:

Our club organizes spring, summer and fall field trips, and occasional educational workshops as well. Please contact our club for more information.


Annual Show:

Our club's annual show is held on the 2nd Weekend of September at the Mid-Scarborough Community Centre, 2467 Eglinton Ave E. The show features dealers, demonstrations, swap, displays, and door prizes. The centre is wheelchair accessible and refreshments are available. Newsletter:

Our newsletter, Strata Data, is published 10 times each year and is distributed to our members. We also exchange newsletters with other clubs across Canada.
