Mary Higgins Clark, bestselling author of some eighteen novels including We'll Meet Again, delves into the mystery of psychic powers and communication with the dead in her gripping new thriller Before I Say Goodbye.

When Adam Cauliff's new cabin cruiser blows up with him and several close business associates on board, his wife Nell McDermott is devastated. Not only is Nell shattered by Adam's sudden death, but she is wracked with guilt - the last time Nell saw Adam alive, she told him to leave and never come back.

Nell's feelings are further complicated by the influence of her Great-aunt Gert, who insists she see a medium to make peace with Adam. Despite her scepticism, the awful burden of guilt coupled with Gert's enthusiasm finally persuade Nell to consult the medium Bonnie Wilson.

As Nell searches for the truth about Adam's death, she relies more heavily on Bonnie who claims to be receiving instructions from Adam, which Nell is faithfully carrying out. But someone is watching Nell closely. And the closer she comes to learning what really happened to her husband, the closer she is to becoming the next victim of a ruthless killer.

Nell finds strength from her meeting with Dr. Dan Minor, a paediatric surgeon in the burns unit, searching for his mother who has been missing since he was a small boy. "Quinny" to her cronies, she had a drinking problem and mixed with derelicts and bag ladies. Dr. Dan Minor also experiences tragedy before eventually finding happiness with Nell.

Before I Say Goodbye is a story with twists and surprises, and a clever twist-in-the-tale in the last chapter. All is not as it appears. One of the best books Mary Higgins Clark has written to date - and her readers and fans hope there are more to come.
