"The State of Connecticut will prove that Molly Carpenter Lasch, with the intent to cause the death of her husband Dr. Gary Lasch, did in fact cause his death. That as he sat at his desk, his back to her, she shattered his skull with a heavy bronze sculpture; that she then left him to bleed to death as she went upstairs to their bedroom and fell asleep."

After serving five-and-a-half years in prison for murdering her husband, Molly Lasch is home. She still can’t remember the night her husband died. But there is one memory that troubles her. Is it possible that someone else was in the house that night? Is it also possible that she didn’t kill Gary? And if she didn’t - who did?

Investigative reporter Fran Simmons sets out to find the truth. She begins to think that Molly may be innocent - until Molly meets with her late husband’s mistress, Annamarie Scalli - and Annamarie turns up dead.

Unsure who to trust, Fran must unravel the truth from the lies, before Molly’s parole is revoked and she goes back to prison - something Molly has sworn she won’t do. Her life hangs in the balance while Fran desperately tries to find out what really happened to Gary Lasch and Annamarie - and why. Dr. Peter Black - Chief Executive Officer of Remington Health Management Organization and Cal Whitehall - Chairman of the Board of Lasch Hospital and Remington Health Management - both seem to have something to hide. And so does Molly’s housekeeper, Edna Barry, the one who found the bloody body of Gary Lasch on the night he was murdered.

Mary Higgins Clark tells the intriguing story of Molly Lasch in a way that allows the reader to wiggle into the plot and enjoy it. Clark’s novels are fun and wonderfully entertaining, without becoming heavy-handed or overly detailed. We’ll Meet Again will not disappoint her many fans.
