Please report any issues to SH_STI@phac-aspc.gc.ca

Background

The Canadian Guidelines on Sexually Transmitted Infections were created as a resource for clinical and public health professionals — especially nurses and physicians — for the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) across a diverse patient population, including neonates, children, adolescents and adults.

Since the release of the Canadian Guidelines on Sexually Transmitted Infections 2006 Edition, the Expert Working Group for the Guidelines which includes STI experts from the fields of medicine, nursing, laboratory, public health and research have volunteered their time and effort as authors and reviewers to maintain updated, evidence-based recommendations. On-going changes to the STI Guidelines (including the 2008 binder update and forthcoming chapter revisions) reflects emerging issues and highlights changes in STI literature.
